The West Chester Wolverines Hockey Club are a Full Ice Mite Major program that skate out of Ice Line Quad Rinks and compete in the Atlantic Hockey Federation Full Ice Mite League. All games and practices will focus on encouraging players to realize their full athletic potential in a competitively fun environment. Our objective is to develop all facets of hockey performance; technical, tactical, physical, and mental, while fostering a love for the game. Coaches and staff encourage the players to develop confidence and competence in fundamental skills and general athleticism, in a fun, engaging and progressively challenging atmosphere.
On ice skill development is delivered through 2 on ice practices per week that will incorporate full ice practice plans, a high tempo competitive environment for skill development and teaching situational game play. In addition, we will offer off ice training programs to increase the development of skills and athleticism, plus monthly specialty skills clinics run by Method Hockey. The team will play 40+ full ice games consisting of Atlantic Hockey Federation League games, Non-League and Showcases /Tournaments.
We will field 2 Add-On season teams that play a reduced full ice game schedule compared to the full season team. It is designed to introduce players to the full ice game and is designed to augment players that are training and skating already on half ice Mite teams. Each team will play 16 full ice games; 4 home, 4 away and 2 showcase weekends. The top teams advance to the Atlantic Hockey Federation (AHF) playoffs.
Wolverines also field Spring/Summer Tournament teams each year for 2012 Birth Year and younger. Tryout info for Spring/Summer teams are announced in December of each year.
